Why trade stock baskets with FXTM?

How does stock basket trading work?

Stock trading is the buying and selling of a company’s shares with an aim to make a profit. When you buy shares in a company you own a small part of that company, and the value of your investment will change as the company’s share price moves up and down.

Stock basket trading is a little different. Instead of investing in individual stocks, you can trade the price movements of a portfolio of companies, placed in an index that’s based on theme (e.g. Green) or sector (e.g. Mobile) with a single trade.

Stock baskets involve cheaper holding costs than trading multiple single stocks, and offer an alternative way to diversify your risk.

Trade ready-made portfolios from companies you believe in.

We’ve designed a new way for you to invest in companies that share your vision of the future. We call it, stock baskets.

What are stock baskets, exactly?

Put simply, they’re a portfolio of company stocks that share similar characteristics, and they’re based on sectors that are trying to make a difference (think Green led or Mobile tech companies). We think ‘stock baskets’ define them best, but these types of assets have many different names (look for Share Indexes on the trading platform).

In a nutshell, these assets track and measure the performance (or price movement) of a specific market sector. This means they behave exactly like an index. They allow you to trade a portfolio of company shares with one click, instead of opening multiple positions per company share each time.
